Protura Chaetotaxy new species Nipponentomon nippon porotaxy taxonomy

Abstract

Nipponentomon jaceki sp. nov. is described from the Russian Far East. This new species is characterized by a short rostrum, presence of an additional seta on the head, absence of seta P1a on tergite VII, and concave hind margin of comb VIII. It is similar to N. khabarovskense Nakamura, 2004, also from the Russian Far East, but differs in the shape of the comb and maxillary sensilla, and in the length of sensilla e and g on the foretarsus. Collection for N. nippon (Yoshii, 1938) also is reported from the same area.
