Abstract
Between 1844 and 1872, F. Dozy, J.H. Molkenboer, R.B. Van den Bosch, and C.M. van der Sande Lacoste published 260 species and 17 varieties of tropical Southeast Asian mosses considered new to science. The typification of Dozy and Molkenboer’s new taxa is complicated by restrictions imposed on them and by missing, incorrect, or incomplete collecting data in their publications and on labels of specimens they borrowed from the Rijksherbarium (L).
Sixty-five new, revised or emended typifications are proposed, based on information from their publications, specimens they did examine, and data from the records of L.
