Mannia subpilosa (Horik.) Horik. a new synonym of Cryptomitrium tenerum (Hook.) Austin

Abstract

Grimaldia subpilosa (≡ Mannia subpilosa) from Taiwan proved to be identical with Cryptomitrium tenerum. Supplemental information on the morphology and taxonomy is provided on the basis of the Taiwanese plants. Regional differences of spore size in C. tenerum are illustrated using SEM images from Taiwanese, American, and Indian plants.
