Abstract
This is a faunistic analysis and checklist of 1191 species of birds known in China. Included in this booklet are: an analysis of taxonomic richness of the birds in China, an analysis of the aggregated distribution of bird species richness in China in comparison to that in North America, and a complete checklist of the avifauna of China with a census of the numbers of orders, families, genera and species.
