Two species of the genus Corticaria (Coleoptera: Latridiidae) new to the Korean Peninsula

Abstract

The genus Corticaria Marsham (Coleoptera: Coccinelloidea: Latridiidae) comprises 183 species worldwide. Only a single species, C. ornata Reitter, has been recorded from South Korea. In this study, two species, C. geisha Johnson and C. japonica Reitter, are recorded for the first time from South Korea. As a result, the known Corticaria fauna in South Korea now comprises three species. Images of the diagnostic characters, a distribution map, and image of the type specimens of the three species are provided.
