New species of the genus Therates Latreille, 1816 (Coleoptera, Cicindelidae) from Laos

Tiger beetles

Abstract

A new species of tiger beetle, Therates aurorae sp. nov., belonging to the “chennelli” species group is described from Laos and compared with closely related species. Images of habitus and aedeagus of the new species are given, along with those of two other closely related species T. apicenigrus and T. bannokcolus with which it co-occurs.
