Abstract

A new genus is provided for two species of hydrobiid (sensu lato) gastropods living micro-sympatrically in Lake Poso, Central Sulawesi. One was originally described as Indopyrus bonnei Abbott, 1945 and the other is described as new. The relationships of these taxa are discussed. The genus Caldicochlea, found in artesian springs in central Australia, is the most similar of the named Australasian genera and there are also similarities with Fluviopupa found on various Pacific Islands.
