Abstract

The pulmonate freshwater snail Physa acuta Draparnaud, 1805 has been previously reported as an invasive species in China and many other parts of the world. Populations in Beijing and Shandong, Shanxi, Yunnan and Hubei Provinces are reported for the first time based on collections made between August and October 2007. The potential for further spread of this species in China is discussed.
