Survey of Linyphiidae spiders (Arachnida: Araneae) from some Oriental Regions of China

Abstract

A total of 107 species belonging to 61 genera have been recorded from China (Anhui, Chongqing, Hainan, Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong, Gansu, Guangxi, Guizhou, Sichuan, and Xizang), including 74 new species, and five new genera which are described here: Acanoides cornutus Irfan, Zhang & Peng, sp. n. With the description of 74 new species and 5 new genera, the number of Linyphiidae species known from China has increased from 533 in 175 genera to 607 in 180 genera. Among the new species described here, thirty-seven are known by single sex (11 with males and 26 with females). Following new combinations are established Microneta orthogonia (Irfan, Wang & Zhang, 2023) comb. n. (ex. Agyneta); Oilinyphia pengqi (Lin & Li, 2024) comb. n. (ex. Chrosiothes, family Theridiidae); Shaanxinus griseolineatus (Schenkel, 1936) comb. n. (ex Gongylidioides); Lepthyphantes cultellifer Schenkel, 1936, transferred to Acanoides Sun, Marusik & Tu, 2014, as Acanoides cultellifer (Schenkel, 1936) comb. n. (ex Lepthyphantes); Baryphyma Simon, 1884, Scotinotylus Simon, 1884, and Walckenaeria furcillata (Menge, 1869) have been recorded for the first time in China. Detailed descriptions of genitalic characters and somatic features of new and already known species by means of photographs, as well as comparisons with closely related species, are provided.
