Abstract

A new species of the extremely rarely collected genus Limnichopharus Miyatake, 1994, of the monotypic, ladybird beetle tribe Limnichopharini Miyatake, 1994 (subfamily Coccinellinae), Limnichopharus khaoyaiensis sp. nov., is described from Thailand, illustrated, and compared with the other congeneric species L. hainanensis Miyatake and L. borneensis Miyatake. This represents the third known species in the genus and the tribe. Male genitalia are illustrated and described for the first time for Limnichopharini. The systematic position of the tribe is briefly discussed.
