Abstract
A new species of the plant bug genus Tropidosteptes, tribe Mirini, is described from Brazil, discovered causing injury to cultivated olive, Olea europaea L. (Oleaceae), near the town of Camanducaia, Minas Gerais. The species is associated with foliar damage characterized by chlorotic spotting and necrosis, indicating its potential as an emerging pest in olive cultivation. Illustrations of the adults and male genitalia are provided, and an identification key to the species of Tropidosteptes found in Brazil is given. Damage caused by this species and its potential management are also discussed.
