On the genus Tetartopeus Czwalina, 1888 of Türkiye III. A new species from Northern Anatolia, and some new records of the genus from the Palaearctic region (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Paederinae)

Abstract

The genus Tetartopeus Czwalina (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Paederinae) is a small Holarctic genus currently represented by 44 species. In the study, a new species of the genus from Northern Anatolia, Türkiye are herein described and illustrated: Tetartopeus danismani sp. nov. from Amasya and Çorum provinces. In addition, records of 16 Tetartopeus species of this genus are provided. Among them, T. angustatus (Lacordaire) is recorded from Egypt, T. paeneinsularum (Bordoni) from Bulgaria, T. quadratus (Paykull) from Montenegro, and T. zetterstedti (Rye) from Mongolia for the first time. Additionally, an identification key to the 14 species known from Türkiye is presented, together with a distributional checklist.
