Abstract

Perapion nipponicum Stüben and Becker, new species from the Japanese island of Shikoku is described and distinguished from other species of the P. curtirostre group based on morphological and molecular data. Furthermore, the species status of P. curtirostre and P. oblongum is further clarified. This integrative taxonomic description presents the CO1 sequences of the species discussed, a distance matrix, and a neighbour joining tree. A key to the species of the Perapion curtirostre group is included.
