Abstract 

This work provides a comprehensive review of 111 species of the genus Forcipomyia Meigen found in China. Thirteen subgenera are recognized and features for subgenera are presented. Sixty-six species of Forcipomyia are described as new: Forcipomyia (Caloforcipomyia) coloratus Liu and Yu, sp.nov., F. (Cal.) confragosus Liu and Yu, sp.nov., F. (Cal.) illimis Liu and Yu, sp.nov., F. (Collessohelea) manzhuangensis Liu and Yu, sp.nov., F. (Dycea) circinate Liu and Yu, sp.nov., F. (Euprojoannisia) bahelea Liu and Yu, sp.nov., F. (Phytohelea) mahamutius Liu and Yu, a new synonym of F. (Phytohelea) jocosus Yu and Ma, 1998. Keys to subgenera and species are provided and each species is illustrated. All material is deposited in the Medical Entomological Collection Gallery in Beijing.
