Abstract

This paper presents the analysis of three works by three authors (Brisson, Hasselquist and Vogel) published in 1762 that contain classifications of amphibians and reptiles. The nomenclatural status of the herpetological nomina in these works, particularly regarding their availability and taxonomic allocation, is clarified.
