Squamata Serpentes Viperidae Crotalinae

Abstract

We show that the new nomen "Ovophis malhotrae" proposed by Zeng et al. (2023a‒b) is nomenclaturally unavailable. As we consider the species for which it was coined taxonomically valid, we propose for it a new nomen, satisfying the criteria of publication of the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature. The original description of this species is slightly expanded.
