The weevils of the genus Maes Fairmaire, 1888 (Coleoptera, Curculionidae: Entiminae) from China

Blosyrini Maes new species synonymy key Yunnan Sichuan

Abstract

Weevil genus Maes Fairmaire, 1888 (Entiminae, Blosyrini) is resurrected from the synonymy of the Blosyrus Schoenherr, 1826. Brief morphological characteristics of Maes is provided. A key to nine species of the genus Maes, including M. transversicollis Fairmaire, 1888, M. igori Davidian sp. nov., M. davidi Davidian sp. nov., M. delavayi Davidian sp. nov., M. fairmairei Davidian sp. nov., M. ilyai Davidian sp. nov., M. korolevi Davidian sp. nov., M. magnanoi Davidian sp. nov., and M. lingshanicus Davidian sp. nov. is given. Maes distributed in southern part of Sichuan and Yunnan provinces of China.
