Special volume

Open-access special volumes with collected papers such as a Festschrift or on a special topic (e.g. outputs of a symposium or a funded research project) within the scope of the journal are occasionally published. Journal of Insect Biodiversity subject editors and/or other guest editors should send the proposal to the chief editor for approval and instructions. All papers must follow Journal of Insect Biodiversity's style, standard and peer review procedures. If any papers by the guest editors are to be included in the special issue, then these papers must be handled by editors/colleagues other than the special issue editor(s) involved. Special issues must be 60 or more pages. Funding is required to offset part of the production cost (e.g. payment of article processing fee for open access). Special volumes are published as standalone books and assigned ISBNs.

SPECIAL VOLUMES CURRENTLY IN PREPARATION

Invasive Insects

For more than a century, scientists have recognized the significant influence of climate on the geographical distribution of ecosystems and wildlife worldwide. It is now evident that climate change is reshaping species distributions, creating conditions that facilitate the spread of invasive insects. Many of these insects are non-native species that, once introduced into new environments, can cause substantial ecological and economic damage. Human mobility and global trade further accelerate their spread across regions. Managing invasive insects imposes considerable financial costs on agricultural and forest systems. In this special volume, we aim to highlight invasive insect species from around the world and draw attention to their global impacts.
