Abstract
A new species of Obelura Burr, 1907, Obelura yunnana sp. nov., is described from Dali City, Yunnan Province, China. The new species is distinguished from its described congeners by the presence of a prominent dorsal tooth near the base of the forceps. This represents the second species of Obelura reported from China. The nomenclatural changes of the following three species previously allocated in the genus Syntonus are proposed: Obelura serrata (Srivastava, 1978) comb. nov.; O. simplex (Srivastava, 1978) comb. nov.; O. venus (Steinmann, 1993) comb. nov.. A key to the Obelura species based on male morphological characters is also provided.
