Ant-like stone beetles Cephennodes Cephennomicrus new records taxonomy

Abstract

The ant-like stone beetle tribe Cephenniini Reitter (Staphylinidae: Scydmaeninae) is distributed worldwide and includes 714 species within 23 genera. One of those genera, Cephennodes Reitter, contains more than 220 species, three of which have been recorded in Korea. In this study, two additional Cephenniini species, Cephennodes (Fusionodes) ussuricus (Kurvatov) and Cephennomicrus tanakai Hoshina, are recorded for the first time in Korea. Illustrations of habitus, aedeagus, and a key to Korean species of the tribe Cephenniini are also provided.
