Acmaeoderella (Omphalothorax) prosopiphaga Volkovitsh, 2013 (Coleoptera: Buprestidae), a new jewel beetle in the United Arab Emirates

Coleoptera Buprestidae Acmaeoderella new record Arabian Peninsula United Arab Emirates

Abstract

Collecting data on the overlooked jewel beetle Acmaeoderella (Omphalothorax) prosopiphaga Volkovitsh, 2013 (Coleoptera: Buprestidae)—the first record for the Coleopteran fauna of the United Arab Emirates and Arabian Peninsula, with remarks on its host plant, the Ghaf tree (Prosopis cineraria (L.) Druce) are presented. This record is a new contribution to the UAE and Arabian Peninsula insect fauna: A. (O). prosopiphaga specimens were collected for the first time in the malaise trap in the natural Ghaf tree location during July 2023.
