Cerrado Checklist Neotropics Brazilian Savanna mayfly taxonomy

Abstract

Gioás State is located in the Central Region of Brazil belonging to a massive area of the Cerrado biome. The knowledge of Ephemeroptera in Goiás is limited by few derived from punctual collections. As result of a survey in 25 sample sites of Goiás, I present a taxonomic contribution of Ephemeroptera from the State. From the total of 830 specimens collected, 21 genera and 25 species were recorded. Caenidae (Caenis) is recorded from Goiás for the first time, as well as new records of 10 genera and 16 species.

Key words: Cerrado; Checklist; Neotropics; Brazilian Savanna; mayfly; taxonomy
