Suffrianaltica, a new genus of flea beetles (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae: Galerucinae: Alticini) from the West Indies

Abstract

New genus Suffrianaltica gen. nov. is described to accommodate Chaetocnema tuberculata (Suffrian, 1868). It is illustrated and compared to Apraea Baly, 1877, Glyptina LeConte, 1859, and Guadeloupena Bechyne, 1956 and their distinguishing characters are illustrated. The lectotype of Chaetocnema tuberculata (Suffrian, 1868) is designated.
