A new species of Coelosis Hope, 1837 (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae: Dynastinae: Oryctini) from Paraguay

Abstract

Coelosis spinophallicus Ratcliffe & Cave is described as a new species from Capiíbary, San Pedro Department, Paraguay. The new species is compared with the sympatric species Coelosis inermis (Sternberg). A description, diagnosis, illustrations, and distribution map are provided for the new species, with a key to the Paraguayan species of Coelosis Hope.
