A new genus and species of cicada from Brazil (Hemiptera: Cicadidae: Tibicininae: Selymbriini)

Abstract

The new cicada genus and species Striduloselymbria cabofrioensis gen. nov., sp. nov. is described. It is determined to be a member of Selymbriini Moulds & Marshall, 2018 and is unique in the presence of a mesonotal stridulatory apparatus.
