Abstract

The distributional records based on a revision of the material of the genera Halys Fabricius, 1803 (H. brocchus Gapon, 2023; H. jizanus Linnavuori, 1986; H. magnus Chopra, 1974; H. maculipennis Stål, 1865; H. mudigerensis Salini, 2019; H. persa Bergroth, 1919; H. sulcatus (Thunberg, 1783); H. simplinervis Bergroth, 1906) and Neohalys Ahmad and Perveen, 1982 (N. serricollis (Westwood, 1837)), mostly sourced from the collection of the National Museum of the Czech Republic, Prague, are reviewed. The following new country and state records are provided: H. brocchus from India: Puducherry (Karaikal) and Sri Lanka; H. magnus from Bhutan, India: Rajasthan and Sikkim, Iran: Sistan and Baluchestan, and Pakistan: Balochistan; H. maculipennis from Mali; H. mudigerensis from India: Kerala, and H. sulcatus (Thunberg, 1783) from India: Maharashtra. Some published misidentifications and distributional errors are rectified. Habitus photographs are provided for most of the species. The genital capsule and paramere of H. brocchus, H. magnus, H. persa, and H. sulcatus are illustrated by scanning electron micrographs, and reliable measurements of the body length of H. brocchus are provided.
