Ischnodemus pilcomayo, a New Species from Argentina, and Description of the Male of I. pullus Slater and Wilcox (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Blissidae)

Abstract

A new species of the cosmopolitan genus Ischnodemus, I. pilcomayo, new species from the Rio Pilcomayo National Park, Formosa Province, Argentina, and the male of Ischnodemus pullus Slater and Wilcox, 1969 are described, including dorsal and lateral habitus and male genitalia images. Photographs of the female holotype of I. pullus and the macropterous male holotype of Reticulatodemus nitidus Slater and Wilcox, 1966 are given, together with dorsal and lateral habitus images of the brachypterous form of the latter species.
