Abstract
This study comprises the descripition of two new species of Ampelisca Costa, 1857, from Brazilian coast. Ampelisca flabellicaudata sp. nov. is characterized by head with antero-ventral and anterodorsal margins parallel, pereopod 7 carpus and propodus stout, subequal in length, urosomite 1 produced and pointed dorsally and uropod 3 with outer ramus rounded apically. Ampelisca moreirai sp. nov. is characterized by head with antero-ventral margin oblique, pereopod 7 merus posterodistal lobe enlarged to propodus, urosomite 1 dorsally produced into a sharpened upturned carina and uropod 3 lanceolate. Another species, Ampelisca burkey Barnard & Thomas, 1989 is herein first recorded from the Southwestern Atlantic Ocean.References
