Abstract
A new specie s of Diasemopsis (Diptera, Diopsidae ) from Comoro Islands is described and illustrated for the first time wi th a llometric datasets . Diasemopsis comoroensis Carr & Földvár i is shown t o be genetically close, but morphologically distinct from th e widesprea d Afro-tropical species D. meigenii (Westwood); notably a significant dive rgence in the degree of sexual dimorphism within eye spa n has occurre d between the two species. A revised molecula r phylogeny of th e genus Diasemopsis is presente d based on the partial sequenc es of four genes.References
