Abstract
Anthobium crenulatum Shavrin & Smetana, 2019 was recently described based on the holotype deposited in the collection of M. Schülke, Museum für Naturkunde (Berlin, Germany), collected by him in Diancang Shan range in Yunnan, China (Shavrin & Smetana, 2019). This species was included to the crassum-group erected by Shavrin & Smetana (2019), together with other three species from China. Some time later after the description, A. Newton (Chicago) sent to us a letter (e-mail: 15.11.2019) where he noted that “…in your recent Anthobium paper you established a new homonym: A. crenulatum Shavrin & Smetana 2019: 463 (preoccupied, junior primary homonym of Anthobium crenulatum Hatch 1957: 66)...”. It is worth noting here that Anthobium crenulatum was described by Hatch (1957) from Oregon, USA. Therefore, a new replacement name is proposed under the Article 34.2 of ICZN.
