Bryozoa Cheilostomatida Dibunostoma Thalamoporella Reniporella Eocene Oligocene Miocene new species

Abstract

Here we report on fourteen species of Thalamoporellidae (Bryozoa, Cheilostomatida) from Paleogene–Neogene sediments of the western Kachchh, Gujarat, India. Among these, eleven species are already known from these sediments, whereas two species, namely Thalamoporella badvei n. sp. and T. bhujensis n. sp., are new to science and one is left in open nomenclature. New combinations for two species originally placed in the genus Thalamoporella are also suggested: Dibunostoma transversum n. comb. and Reniporella reniformis n. comb. The genus Reniporella currently placed in the family Steginoporellidae is here re-assigned to Thalamoporellidae mainly based on the position of the opesiules.
