Abstract
Four Mystrothrips species are recorded from China, including M. gracilis sp. nov. from Yunnan Province in Southwestern China, and an illustrated key is provided for their identification. This new species is similar to the Japanese species M. orientalis and ophthalmus, but can be distinguished by the head entirely reticulate, and metathoracic sternopleural sutures absent. The individuals of this species were found under the bark on the trunk of Eucalyptus trees, rather than living in leaf litter. All slide-mounted specimens including the holotype are deposited at Yunnan Agricultural University.
