Coleoptera Carphontes Paracleodoxus Neotropical new genus new species

Abstract

The genus Carphontes Bates, 1881 is redefined, and a new genus Paracleodoxus gen. nov. is described. Carphontes posticalis Bates, 1881 is redescribed. Three new species are described and illustrated: Carphontes paradoxus sp. nov. from Venezuela, Paracleodoxus cineraceus sp. nov. from Venezuela and Colombia, and Paracleodoxus simillimus sp. nov. from Venezuela.
