Abstract

The genus Tragidion Audinet-Serville is reviewed, two new species are described: Tragidion agave, sp. nov., and Tragidion deceptum, sp. nov; four new synonymies are proposed: T. peninsulare Schaeffer and T. p. californicum Linsley = T. annulatum LeConte, T. cyanovestis Chemsak and Linsley = T. bicolor Bates, and T. armatum brevipenne Linsley = T. armatum LeConte; T. densiventre Casey is revalidated from synonymy; the lectotypes of T. annulatum LeConte and T. auripenne Casey are designated; separate keys to both sexes of the adults are provided, and information on the ecology of the genus is summarized.
