Abstract
The 18 species of the genus Colliuris occurring in Canada, United States of America, Mexico, and the Greater Antilles are redescribed and information on their distribution and habitat requirements is provided. A key for the separation of these species as well as other ones recorded from Central America is included. The following new synonymies are proposed: Casnonia picta Chaudoir, 1843, Casnonia limbata Waterhouse, 1878, Colliuris picta var. extrema Liebke, 1930, Colliuris picta var. concluda Liebke, 1930 and Colliuris yucatana Liebke, 1930 with Colliuris pensylvanica (Linné, 1767) and Apiodera transparens Motschulsky, 1864 and Colliuris subdistincta var. maculata Liebke, 1930 with Colliuris subdistincta (Chaudoir, 1863). Colliuris caymanensis Darlington, previously considered a subspecies of C. tetrastigma (Chaudoir), is treated as a species, new status.References
