Abstract

Nimbocera rhabdomantis Trivinho-Strixino & Strixino, 1991 is transferred to the genus Tanytarsus van der Wulp, 1874, and the adult male and pupa of T. rhabdomantis comb. nov. are described as new to science. Diagnoses for larva, pupa and adult male of T. rhabdomantis comb. nov. are given, and the characters used to identify the immature stages of Nimbocera Reiss, 1972, are briefly discussed.
