First report of a wingless species of Ornebius—a scaly cricket usually with winged males (Orthoptera: Mogoplistidae: Mogoplistinae)

Abstract

A new species, Ornebius apterus sp. nov., is described from Guangdong, China. This wingless species is monophyletic with Ornebius spp., which are all singing species. The type specimens are deposited in East China Normal University, Biology of History Museum (ECNU).
