Abstract

Illustrated descriptions of six Kybos species found in Kyrgyzstan are provided, with data on biology and distribution. Oscillograms of the male vibrational calling signals are presented for four species. The synonymies K. oshanini oshanini Zachvatkin, 1953 = K. oshanini mesasiaticus Zachvatkin, 1953, syn. n. = K. mesasiaticus iliensis Mitjaev, 1971, syn. n. = Empoasca (Kybos) iliensis (Mitjaev, 1971), syn. n. are established, and data on identification and variability of K. oshanini are provided. Four of the six Kybos species are native to Kyrgyzstan, two more species were found only in a few localities in the north of the country and were apparently introduced; all native species are endemic to Central Asia.
