A new species and a new record of the genus Scirtothrips (Thysanoptera, Thripidae) from India

Abstract

Scirtothrips lami sp. nov., is described from the leaves of an unidentified weed. Scirtothrips machili Masumoto & Okajima, described from Japan, is reported here as a new record for India. An updated key to the thirteen species of Scirtothrips recorded from India is also provided.
