Abstract
Glyptothorax bhurainu sp. nov. and Glyptothorax himalaicus sp. nov. are described from the Ganges River basin in Uttarakhand, India. The two new species can be distinguished from all congeners by a combination of characters including the presence of plicae on ventral surfaces of pectoral spine and first pelvic-fin ray, morphology of the thoracic adhesive apparatus and dorsal-fin spine, and distinct colour pattern. Glyptothorax dakpathari is revalidated based on examination of the type series.
