Abstract
A new species, Ampelisca milenae sp. nov., is described from Potiguar Basin, Northeastern Brazil. The new species is similar to A. romigi Barnard (1954), however differs from it in having: antenna 1 overreaching peduncular article 5 of antenna 2, urosomite 1 dorsal carina raised into a dorsal sinuous process ending a pointed posterodorsal corner, and inner ramus of uropod 3 not distally uncinate. The new species was collected between 168 and 186 m depth. An updated key to all Ampeliscidae species recorded from Brazilian waters is provided.
