A new species of Voragocoris Weirauch, 2012 (Heteroptera: Dipsocoromorpha: Schizopteridae) from the Brazilian Amazon

Abstract

The genus Voragocoris Weirauch, 2012 currently includes Voragocoris schuhi Weirauch, 2012 from Peru, Voragocoris amrishi Makhan, 2013 from Suriname, and Voragocoris weirauchae Almeida et al., 2020 from Brazil. In this paper, we describe Voragocoris jarilsoni sp. nov. based on three male specimens collected in the northern Brazilian Amazon. An updated key to species based on males of Voragocoris is also presented.
