Abstract

The New World genus Tropidopsilus Kieffer, 1908 is recorded for the first time in the Palaearctic region. A new species of this genus, T. orientalis sp. nov., from Japan, is described and illustrated. The generic diagnosis of Tropidopsilus is revised and the genus name Masnerolyta Buhl, 1997 is recognized as a junior synonym of Tropidopsilus. The new combination, Tropidopsilus ruber (Buhl, 1997), comb. nov. is established.
