New species and new synonymy of the Conophymacris Willemse, 1933 (Orthoptera: Acrididae) from Yunnan, China with a key to known species

Orthoptera taxonomy Conophymacris Pseudoptygonotus new species new synonymy

Abstract

The origin locality specimens of ten species in the genus Conophymacris Willemse, 1933 are examined. A new synonymy is proposaled, Conophymacris chuxiongensis Wang, 1993, syn. nov. = Pseudoptygonotus kunmingensis Zheng, 1977. A new species Conophymacris yongshanensis sp. nov. from Yunnan, China is described and illustrated. Type specimens are deposited in the Biological Science Museum, Dali University (BMDU), Yunnan Province, China. An updated species key for Conophymacris is provided.
