Coleoptera Coccinelloidea Scymnini Nephus review new records

Abstract

Nephus Mulsant, 1846 (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae) is a worldwide distributed genus dividing into several subgenera. Representatives of this genus are primarily known to occur in the Afrotropic, Oriental, and Palaearctic realms; however, their taxonomic status remain uncertain. In this study, we identified eight species, including seven new country records from Pakistan: N. ancyroides, N. caneparii, N. bielawskii, N. eurypodus, N. quadrimaculatus, N. cf. roonwali, and N. cf. similincludens. Diagnoses for each recorded species are provided, along with information on their prey, associated plants, and distributional records. Additionally, a key to species identification, photographs of the aedeagus, and habitus of all species are included.
