Abstract
Two new melolonthine species from New Guinea, Maechidius kainantu Telnov, sp. nov. and M. sabatinellii Telnov, sp. nov., are described and illustrated. Additional records are provided for seven poorly known Papuan species of Maechidius MacLeay, 1819.
