Abstract

Five new species of subfamily Tephritinae: Elaphromyia oculomaculata Maneesh & Hancock, sp. nov., Malaisinia tenebrosa Maneesh & Hancock, sp. nov., Metasphenisca snehae Maneesh, sp. nov., Platensina bradyseta Maneesh & Hancock, sp. nov., and Rhabdochaeta drewi Maneesh & Hancock, sp. nov. are described and illustrated from India. Postabdominal structures of Chaetostomella completa (Kapoor, Malla & Ghosh), Pliomelaena spathuliniforma (Dirlbek & Dirlbek) and P. zonogastra (Bezzi) are described for the first time.
