A review of Dictyoptera Latreille, 1829 (Coleoptera: Lycidae: Erotinae) of mainland China, with description of a new species from Jiangxi

Abstract

The erotine genus Dictyoptera Latreille, 1829 of mainland China is reviewed. A new species, D. wuyishanensis sp. nov., is described from Jiangxi, eastern China, raising the number of Dictyoptera species in the continental part of the country to four. Dictyoptera bicoloricornis Pic, 1933 is transferred to Helcophorus Fairmaire, 1891 as Helcophorus bicoloricornis (Pic, 1933), comb. nov. The habitus and aedeagus of the holotype of D. gansuensis Kazantsev, 2004 are illustrated with colour photographs for the first time. A key to the Dictyoptera species of continental China and a list of species of the genus are provided.
